    Physical security perimeters

    Security perimeters should be defined and used to protect areas that contain information and other associated assets.

    Purpose

    To prevent unauthorized physical access, damage and interference to the organization's information and information processing facilities.

    Implementation Guidance

    Define secure areas and security perimeters

    Implement physical barriers (walls, gates, locked doors)

    Control entry points with access controls

    Monitor perimeters with surveillance systems

    Display security notices at perimeter boundaries
